Unless you’re a zoologist you probably don’t think much about how animals communicate with one another. Sure we’ve all heard of whales singing and dolphins sending sonar signs to one another, but how do the rest of animals communicate?
Deer are common in many parts of North America, and though we often see them we probably don’t know much about them.
Deer use scent to send messages to other deer. They have glands on different parts of their bodies that emit pheromones. Deer scents are used to warn other deer of impending danger or as a tool for attracting mates.
