Gun holsters have been around for an extremely long time, and they have always served as a convenient way to carry a firearm. But with people using guns for so many different reasons, the types of holsters have also changed accordingly. As such, there are four major categories of gun holsters available.

-Duty Holsters: These are completely unconcealed holsters, and they are often used by law enforcement officers. They easily attach to an officer’s duty belt.

-Tactical Holsters, or Military Holsters: These types of holsters are, as the name suggests, favored among the military. They can even come in a camouflage pattern to match a military outfit. Most often, these are attached in a drop-leg manner, aiding quick draw and easy access.

-Concealment Holsters: These holsters are not only concealed, they are also made to be extremely lightweight and low profile. They are designed to be concealed under clothing without detection.

-Sporting Holsters: Covering the highest range of holsters, these sporting holsters are used most often by individual hunters or non-commercial gun enthusiasts. There are a variety of brands available such as Bianchi holsters and GALCO holsters.

If you’re in the market for a new knife, it is understandably overwhelming. There are so many different kinds and styles that it can be difficult choosing which blade is right for you. One of the terms commonly known to knife aficionados is the KA-BAR knife. But what exactly sets a KA-BAR apart from the rest?

First, a KA-BAR is a type of Bowie knife. (And a Bowie knife is distinguished by a large, sheath blade that is manufactured with a clip point.) Generally speaking, KA-BARs are about one foot in length with a seven inch blade, and it was the preferred tool of United States Marine Corps and Navy during World War II. The materials from which it is primarily made include 1095 carbon steel with a non-slip, rubber substitute handle.

While the knife was originally instated for military use, it remained popular with individuals long after the war. In particular, they are still used extensively by experienced woodsmen, hikers, hunters, and fishers.

In 1852, partners Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson founded S&W firearms Company. Few companies in the USA can claim a history that long.
